Caseworker Meeting Log - March 14, 2026. Met with Marcus A. Thorne today at the local library to conduct his periodic review and the mandated NYTD survey. The weather was unusually rainy, which made the walk from the bus station quite difficult. Marcus arrived on time, appearing well-groomed and motivated. During our session, I, as his assigned Caseworker, facilitated the survey completion. Marcus confirmed he is currently working part-time at a local warehouse for 20 hours a week, though he is not yet in a full-time position. He noted he has not participated in any formal on-the-job training programs this past year. Regarding his financial situation, he is currently receiving food assistance (SNAP), but he is not on Medicaid or any other public housing programs. He is, however, utilizing a state grant to cover his tuition for his associate's degree program at the local community college, where he remains fully enrolled and in good standing. Marcus mentioned he has a steady support system, specifically citing his aunt as an adult he can consistently go to for emotional support. Thankfully, he has had stable housing for the last two years and has not experienced any homelessness. He also reported no history of drug abuse assessments or legal confinements during this same period. On the personal front, Marcus confirmed he did not father any children in the last two years. He mentioned his personal health insurance is provided through a private plan he holds separately from any state-run programs.
