How a tax consultancy fills Form 5472 for every foreign-owned LLC from one spreadsheet
Protect Your Wealth is an international tax optimization and asset protection consultancy based in Delaware. It sets up and maintains U.S. LLCs for entrepreneurs from around the world, and every one of those entities files its own IRS Form 5472 for its reportable transactions with foreign related parties. With Instafill.ai's batch filling, the firm now prepares the Form 5472s for all its clients from one CSV, one row per entity, with the lines that do not apply left blank, instead of completing each form by hand.

The challenge
The team handles many Form 5472 filings in the same window. The entities share much of the same information, but some of the Form 5472 Part II sections do not apply to every one of them and must be left blank.
Clearing those lines by hand after a batch run defeats the purpose of the batch. The firm needed the batch itself to follow explicit "do not fill" rules on specific lines, so that reviewers could spend their time on the parts that matter.
The solution
The data arrived as a CSV with one row per entity. Batch filling processed it together with instructions listing the Part II lines to leave blank.
The first run did not honor those instructions. The column headers described their data but did not carry the form's own line numbers, so an instruction naming a line had nothing to attach to. The team renamed the relevant headers with the same codes the form uses. From then on, Instafill.ai matched each column to the right field, recognized which lines the instructions referred to, left those empty and filled every other field from the CSV.
On the next run the forms came out as intended: lines 5, 6 and 7 of Part II, the second direct 25% foreign shareholder and the ultimate indirect 25% foreign shareholders, stayed empty on every Form 5472, and the rest was filled from each entity's row.
The results
| Before | With batch filling | |
|---|---|---|
| Each entity's Form 5472 | Completed by hand | Filled from its row in one CSV |
| Lines that do not apply | Cleared by hand | Left empty by instruction |
| More clients | More forms to complete | More rows in the same file |
The firm prepares Form 5472s for many clients at once by updating a single CSV, completes compliance packages faster and handles urgent filings without giving up accuracy. As it takes on more entrepreneurs with U.S. LLCs, its compliance workload no longer grows form by form.
The lesson applies to any batch: structure matters. With the form's line numbers in the column headers, instructions can fill some lines and deliberately leave others empty.
