Plan & Usage Tracking
See your current plan, how many document fills you have used, and how many remain before your quota resets
Overview
The Plan & Usage screen at Settings → Usage gives every workspace owner a clear view of where their account stands at any point during the billing period. It shows the active plan, billing type, current period dates, fills consumed, fills remaining, and the exact date the counter resets. There is no guesswork about whether you are approaching your limit.
Instafill.ai bills by completed document fills. Every form you fill - whether through the web app, batch processing, or the REST API - counts against the monthly or annual fill quota for your workspace. The usage screen reflects that count in real time.
What the Usage Screen Shows
Current Plan
- Plan name (Business, Max, or Enterprise) and status
- Billing type: Monthly or Annual
- Current billing period start and end dates
- Next renewal date
- Buttons to change plan or manage billing via the Stripe portal
Document Fills
- Fills used in the current period
- Total fills included in the plan
- Percentage used, shown as a progress bar
- Fills remaining
- Date the counter resets
How It Works
Every completed document fill - whether from a manual session, a batch job row, or an API call - increments the workspace's fill counter. The Settings → Usage screen reads that counter directly and displays it alongside the plan's defined limit.
When the counter approaches the plan limit, the progress bar reflects the remaining headroom. Once the limit is reached, further fill requests return HTTP 429 at the API layer until the counter resets or the plan is upgraded. The counter resets on the date shown on the usage screen - the workspace's billing period renewal date. Unused fills do not roll over.
Upgrading or Managing Your Plan
From the Plan & Usage screen, two buttons are available:
- Change plan: opens the plan selection flow to upgrade or switch tiers
- Manage billing: opens the Stripe billing portal where you can update your payment method, view invoice history, and manage your subscription
